This was rather a chill episode. Zenitsu is as funny as always. Ino has quickly become the best waifu after Nezuko. And finally, NEZUKO CAME OUT OF THE BOX, YET ANOTHER GIFT FROM THE GODS

liked how chill and slower paced this episode was. Some of the gags felt repetitive but most of them landed well for me. Really glad I'm watching this show.

Will we get a new opening and ending next week as new characters will be introduced and the anime is going to adapt a new arc?
Don't get me wrong the current opening and ending are really great and I like it very much.

WELL WELL. The Dream Team indeed.

Seeing Inosuke in human form, he's a tomgirl, and a pretty hectic character who desires for battle.

Zenitsu's humour is straght outta this point with the many idiosyncracies that he's facing, and he's just the running gag, only amplified times infinity.

Nezuko came out of her comfort zone. And Zenitsu ain't gotta let Tanjirou lying down. Love interest?

A chill and hilarious episode.

Choreography and animation are pretty great in this show, this Inousuke x Tanjirou fight and the rotating house in past episodes showcased this very well. I feel like the episodes are shorter than what they actually are, which means i'm enjoying it a lot.
I think I don't know wtf I'm doing. Maybe. Probably.

Anime had a really great start that actually hooked me up, and here we are past the half of it. From an interesting premise with good pacing it became typical shonen with godawful pacing. Characters are 2-dimensional at best (well there was no development yet, but considering what's happening so far I'm not sure there will be any), fights are so long and explanatory of all the bullshit moves that they have is tiring as hell (Zenitsu's lightning was great though, probably because he didn't talk). The comedy is even worse than in Fairy Tail, and I'm not joking, it's not funny and always uses the same technic "the louder I scream the funnier I am". I like light hearted moments with comedy, but when they don't repeat themselves every fucking second (scream - poker face - silent moment stare). Anyway it still has the main plot and villain that I'm interested in, maybe it'll become a bit better... maybe.

This was probably my favorite show of this season, before this story arc.

They gave up any sense of seriousness and emotion to make it a generic shounen anime. This is entirely because of Zenitsu (extremely annoying generic comic relief character) and Inosuke (generic shounen character).

It feels like the writer(s) completely changed (or were removed), and not for the better.

Imagine those guys in your chat rooms that type in full caps all the time, thats Zenitsu and Inosuke.
The comic relief ruins this show for me, when the first arc aired i was pretty hyped each week waiting for the next episode but now its just meh. Admitely some sort of comic relief is to be expected its a shounen afterall and that would have been mostly fine if Zenitsu and Inosuke weren't so fucking loud. Zentisu and Inosuke's characters are while not original still fine on paper if they weren't screaming your eardrums out every single scene they are in, and that is whats annoying me.

No need to start insulting me. I watch shounen more than any other genre, I know comic relief and I usually enjoy it. This comic relief was not funny, it was just annoying.

Don't worry as soon as you say anything bad about their generic shounen the sheep following are gonna jump you. Can't really expect anything from them.

can't believe every entry Nezuko makes is a priceless one, when she came out of the box oh that was so priceless, and that ending when she was holding a bread instead of that thing.

I'd much prefer a consistently dark/serious tone. And the new characters here certainly aren't strong enough to rely on so heavily--right now they just feel like cheap (unlikable) over-exaggerations for the sake of the author's story having a "unique" main cast. Writing distinct/memorable main characters can be tough, I get it, but... Ehhh. I really hope this isn't the only way the author tried to go about it. Take away that exaggeration and there's very little to them.

The dark serious tone that you want almost cancelled the series until Zenitsu and Inosuke showed up(mostly Zen). Besides this isn't a Seinen series like Tokyo Ghoul, it's shonen. Kny was bound to have that classic shonen comedy in it. You'll have your darkness in the next episode but light hearted comedy episodes that show the dynamic between characters are good as well.

The boar dude seems OK. I don't think he's dumb, he simply lacks social skills.

Both of these characters will get better as the show progresses. Still, I think it was a bad move to introduce them at the same time. It doesn't feel like a natural thing to do, considering how different their personalities are.

Don't say that to best boy. He is one of the most popular characters, ranking 2nd after Tanjrou. He beats Nezuko who ranks 3rd.

Fun fact, before Zenitsu and Inosuke appeared. The series was almost cancelled by Shounen Jump. It is the comic relief that saved the series.
In other words, if Zenitsu and Inosuke didn't appeared, this anime adaption wound't even happened.

Exacly my thoughts. This show is getting more and more annoying. I loved first episodes which had a serious, dark atmosphere but now it completly evaporated. There were two extremly irritating characters added as if one wasn't enough to completly ruin this series.

What a waste, so much potential ruined. Instead of epic adventure we have less then medicore comedy show.

It's so hilarious reading comments like this everytime in this forum when you read the manga and know everything that will happen, it's like reading a bunch of 15 years edgy teenagers whining because there's some comedy in their dark and edgy shounen "muh serious and dark shounen is ruined waaah" lmaooo

You should watch Danshi koukousei no nichijou (or any other popular comedy serie) and compare it to the garbage you've seen in this episode.

I really did prefer this show when it was more serious. I'm getting sort of used to the coward character... a little... but this boar head guy is just irritating. Shouting like this is going to grate on the nerves. He makes Bakugou from MHA seem restrained. Both these guys need to tone it down, I'll be very disappointed if this turns into a comedy troupe now. If this is a cooling off episode from the mansion fight I wish it wold have been done with some character development instead of this stupidity.

I watched all 14 episodes today and I was admittedly drawn in by the dark nature of the show and completely forgot this was a shounen. Then Zenitsu and Inosuke appeared and I almost quit the show. I love anime in all forms - but the personalities of the two characters after the first 9 episodes felt so stark and jarring. Screaming every other line and zany faces can be very trying to say the least.

This show is definitely in my wheelhouse as I watch FairyTale, Baka and Test, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto, or Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Kill la Kill- so comedy is my thing. I also watch shows like Bungo Stray Dogs, Durarara!!, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso, The Promised Neverland, and Erased - that have a more serious tone but are able to add in comedy without being over the top.

I've read through all the comments and I understand that Jump surveyed a small sample size of the audience that reads the manga and Zenitsu is a fan favorite. Natsu from FairyTail is also a fan favorite but that doesn't mean he doesn't get on people's nerves from time to time.

I am hopeful things will mellow back out the humor/comedy will feel less forced - as I am completely sold on the main plot and villain.

This episode was especially funny in comparison to the series at large.
The group dynamics are so well balanced, each of them plays off each other extremely well.

Tanjirou vs Inosuke was a very intense hand to hand combat scene. The choreography flowed well and thoroughly expressed Inosuke's erratic character.

Zenitsu is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters, which is very unexpected considering how much I despised his introduction

Are we finally going to see more Giyuu next week!?

Zenitsu isn't weak though, that's what is great about his character. He has no self-confidence which is why he can only realize his full potential when he isn't absorbed by his fear. I haven't read the manga but I'm willing to bet that Zenitsu's transition into a confident, full fledged demon slayer will be among the more interesting developments to watch

Called it since day one; Zenitsu is my favorite character.

That quatuor is gonna be hilarious and pretty entertaining to watch. I guess it's going for the new found family trope for Tanjiro. He's gonna act like the big brother of the group and help them grow in their own way. Like Zenitsu will find confidence in his skills as a fighter, Inosuke will improve his social skills and learn patience. Nezuko will stay cute? Idk I have no idea what they're gonna do with her character.

Anyway, I feel like the story's getting better but the pacing is terrible.
This episode was good.

This episode was great. It's nice to have such a funny episode now and then. I love how the first thing Tanjiro chastises Inosuke about is the infighting. I'm getting serious Bakugo vibes from Inosuke and I love it. The hand-to-hand combat scene was excellently animated, as expected. I love the face. Hiding behind the loli, Zenitsu. Nice. Isn't it really bad when someone starts foaming from the mouth? Do any doctors want to chime in here? Tanjiro was so far off the mark with Inosuke's want for a fight that he wasn't even in the right race to begin with. He instead got lost, ending up at a Buffalo Wild Wings where he watched a NASCAR race instead. Is he headbutting the tree to improve his forehead strength to fight against headbutts? The dynamic between these three dumbasses is brilliant. I love how the doctor just said "Severe!" I feel bad for that poor sap that ran into Inosuke. Don't you need to be recommended to get into the Final Selection, though? Nezuko as loli might just be a cure for world peace. Zenitsu going Super Saiyan over Nezuko traveling with Tanjiro was amusing. I was getting serious Ginpachi-Sensei vibes from the new end sequence, I love it.

literally the "give me back my blood, i'll take your life instead" after Nezuko appeared was just... stupid lol if he didn't use the sword it could be a tolerable scene but not like this... but ya, everything about him so far was just lame (except that little scene when he was protecting the bag or the scene when he was sleeping and used his attack... which combined was like 2 minutes out of 3+ episodes...)

I've heard a lot of people describing this ep as 'meh', but honestly it's one of my favourites. The role Inosuke is playing in the trio is working really well to tumefy the personalities of the others. Come to think of it, Tanjiro does that too. The fight scene at the beginning was beautiful, probably my favourite animated all series even though it was short and largely uneventful.

Zenitsu is still my favourite character because he just keeps getting better and better.

His Katana also just looks insane lmao

LoL at manga fanboys using the word "edgy" in order to criticize legitimate discussion regarding how the show has taken a turn for the worse in the view of some people. So very 2019. So very mature.

It is typical Japanese to have some lighthearted comedic elements introduced in stories that are more tending to the violent or dark (I hate the term edgy. It explains nothing and obfuscates everything). In Berserk we have the likes of Isidro and the long time company Puck to give a pause in the relentless darkness. In FMA (which is a shounen) the comedic elements are well blended in in the story, lightening the mood, but never distracting from the story. In this show, they have become the story. It has taken over.

I read with interest that we will soon continue with the demon slaying work with a blend of both tones. I look forward to this, but reserve my right to point out when I think it's not working.

FMA is one of my favourite animes but I disagree, comedy in FMA has always been a controversial topic specifically because it is done very similarly to Kimetsu (Which perhaps you have watched when you were younger and therefore less judging about such tones). That being said I think people should just accept people have different views. I do know very well that this story is more 'dark' than it is 'comedic', though.

The manga readers or who you're calling 'fanboys' aren't wrong for saying that the story around this point flourished, that's exactly where the Manga received appraise and acclaim from authors like Togashi (Hunter x Hunter/Yu Yu Hakusho) and many others.

I respectfully disagree. I cannot recall an entire episode of FMA being taken over by loud over the top comedy like it has happen in this show. And I discovered FMA rather late in life so I cannot really say I look at it with nostalgia tinted glasses like I may do with other shows.

The only thing that I hate 'bout kimetsu is the comedy. It doesn't feel funny at all and I had to force myself to laugh. It felt awkward. Must be only for me. Found that many enjoyed it. Idk. But other than that everything was great as usual. Boar guy's face! Haha So feminine. I was drooling over his abs,but now I have to think again :v and my nezuko! You bijin!
